Clareo builds trust by being clear about what the Service can do, what it cannot, and how we respond when something goes wrong. This page explains how to contact us for corrections, content complaints, removal requests, or privacy inquiries — and the response times we commit to.
1. What this page covers
- Factual errors in an analysis, blind test, or generated report.
- Harmful or defamatory AI output about a person or business.
- GDPR requests from individuals named in an analysis (access, rectification, erasure).
- Domain removal requests — your business does not have to be analyzed by Clareo.
- Crawling concerns — suspicions that our crawler did not respect
robots.txt or an opt-out signal. - Security and abuse — reports of vulnerabilities or platform misuse.

- Resolution / removal: within 30 days (in line with GDPR Article 12(3)).
- Urgent or clearly harmful content: we aim for removal within 24 hours of confirmation.
If a request is complex or we need additional information, we may extend the period by up to two further months in accordance with GDPR Article 12(3). In that case we will inform you within the original 30 days.
4. What we do for valid complaints
- Factual error: we correct or remove the affected content from the analysis.
- Harmful AI output: we remove the content, log the cause, and adjust prompts or filters where necessary to prevent recurrence.
- GDPR erasure request: we remove the personal data from our storage and confirm in writing.
- Domain removal: we delete existing analyses and add the domain to a permanent exclusion list, blocking future analyses.
5. What we cannot do
- We cannot recall reports already downloaded or shared by users.
- We cannot change the content of the AI engines themselves (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) — we only record what they say at a specific moment in time.
- We do not handle complaints via social media or our leadership — please always use the addresses above so we can track your request properly.
6. Escalation
If you disagree with how we handled a privacy request, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA / APD): Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels — www.dataprotectionauthority.be. For general disputes we refer to the jurisdiction clause in our Terms of Service.
7. How we proactively prevent misuse
- Our crawler identifies as
ClareoBot/1.0 and respects robots.txt. A User-agent: ClareoBot disallow, or a site-wide User-agent: * disallow, will stop Clareo from analysing a site; for permanent exclusion contact privacy@clareo.be. - AI-generated content is labelled in the product and in exported reports, in line with Article 50 of the EU AI Act.
- Prohibited use cases (elections, mass defamation, unlicensed regulated professional advice) are listed in our Terms of Service and result in immediate account termination.
